Students at IGA have access to the following tests:
STANFORD ACHIEVEMENT TESTS
IGA gives the Stanford Achievement Test to grades 3, 5 and 8. This standardized test is administered in April of each year, with results coming out in May or early June. IGA uses the test to evaluate its curriculum and general progress of students.

COLLEGE BOARD TESTS
Go to www.collegeboard.com for helpful information on the PSAT, SAT, SAT 2 Subject Tests, CLEP, and AP exams. It is possible to practice on-line for the tests, find out test dates and to sign up on-line, and to get exam results. Sign up for the PSAT is done through the guidance office.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP): The IGA curriculum in 11th and 12th grade follows an American system and incorporates curriculum leading to students’ taking Advanced Placement (AP) examinations in selected core subjects.

ACT TEST
Another test that many American universities use for admissions is the ACT. For more information, go to: ACT Testing
TOEFL TEST
Most universities in the US and Canada require non-native English speakers to prove English proficiency. One of the ways is to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The test is given in several locations in Turkey. For more information about the test, test locations, and dates, go to: TOEFL
The guidance office also uses the Grip-Birkman and Holland Tests for determining students’ interest areas and possible university-majors. |
